CHICAGO is Killing It in Cape Town – and You’re Next, Joburg!

Cape Town audiences can’t get enough of CHICAGO The Musical! Since opening at Artscape on 27 August, this sultry, sassy and razor-sharp production has dazzled full houses, with tickets selling fast as the run comes to a close on 28 September 2025. If you haven’t yet seen it, this is your last chance – and we’re giving away one double set of tickets for the final Cape Town week.

Brought to life by Showtime Management in association with Barry & Fran Weissler, this all-South African staging boasts a 23-member cast, 11-piece band, and a powerhouse creative team. Audiences and critics alike have hailed it as “flawless,” “spectacular” and “disturbingly good,” proving once again why CHICAGO remains one of the most successful musicals of all time.

The star-studded cast features Kiruna-Lind Devar as Roxie Hart, Samantha Peo as Velma Kelly, Jonathan Roxmouth as Billy Flynn, Tankiso Mamabolo as Mama Morton, Dean de Klerk as Amos Hart and M.E. Marvey as Mary Sunshine, supported by a sizzling ensemble. Together, they deliver iconic numbers like All That Jazz, Cell Block Tango and Razzle Dazzle with breathtaking energy and style.

After its Cape Town triumph, CHICAGO heads to Johannesburg’s Montecasino Teatro from 3 October to 16 November 2025. Due to overwhelming demand, an extra week has already been added to the Gauteng run – a clear sign that Joburg audiences are ready to be razzle-dazzled.

Hazel Feldman of Showtime Management says:

“Fans who have loved this show for years and new audiences coming in for the first time are being dazzled by our world-class performers and this enduring, sultry story of fame, ambition, corruption and murder. Come and join us, Johannesburg!”

With six Tonys, two Oliviers, one Grammy, two Baftas and six Academy Awards to its name, CHICAGO is Broadway at its very best. Don’t miss it – it’d be criminal!
