Tasting Under the Stars Lights Up Durbanville Wine Valley This Harvest
Harvest season in the Durbanville Wine Valley is always a special time of year — and this March, wine lovers are invited to celebrate it in unforgettable style at Tasting Under the Stars on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
Just 20 minutes from Cape Town, Durbanville’s cool-climate vineyards come alive in March. Long golden evenings, the buzz of activity in the vineyards and the aroma of fermenting grapes in the cellars create the perfect backdrop for an immersive harvest celebration. Instead of one central festival, each participating winery will host its own curated, harvest-inspired experience, with extended trading hours until around 21:00.
Expect a wide variety of experiences across the valley. Canto Wines will pair wines with gourmet pizzas, while De Grendel presents an elegant tapas-and-wine evening. At Diemersdal Wine Estate, guests can enjoy a relaxed Mediterranean-inspired open-air celebration complete with live music.
Food-and-wine pairings continue at Durbanville Hills, where visitors can look forward to tapas, wine pairings and exclusive barrel tastings. Groot Phesantekraal offers a rare opportunity to taste wines in barrel and tank alongside older vintages, while Klein Roosboom adds a playful touch with grape stomping as part of its harvest celebration.
Other participating estates include D’Aria, Hillcrest Wines, Maastricht Wines, Meerendal Wine Estate, and Nitida Wine Farm, each offering its own distinctive way to toast the 2026 harvest.
Close to Cape Town yet rich in rural charm, Durbanville Wine Valley offers visitors a compelling way to experience harvest first-hand. Tasting Under the Stars captures the spirit of the season — a celebration of craft, community and the culmination of a year’s dedication in the vineyards.
